FREE Masterclass Tutorial

I am sharing these two tutorial talks as a THANK YOU to everyone who has bought my book. They are talks that I have given at launch events for the book, which share some of the important lessons from the book and provide an overview of the lighting philosophy. They are a chance for you to hear key messages from the book in different words, with some different images and with me waving my arms around. All of which, I hope, helps you get more from the text.

Each presentation is protected with a password, which is a word in the book (details of which word is below. Please do not share the password around. The sound is quite loud in both videos, so turn it down before playing! After entering the password, if the videos don’t show all the controls (such as the play control!), click on the title on the video screen to open in Vimeo (this will also allow you to download them, I think you need to have a vimeo account to do this).

UNDERWATER LIGHTING MASTERCLASS. Part 1.
This talk (above and repeated below) is on creating High Quality, Soft Illumination, the most desirable type of lighting in wide angle photography. A key message is that while there is one type of light that we want, there is not one strobe position that produces it. This talk covers some of the teaching of chapters 3 and 4 of the book. This talk was recorded at BSoUP, the British Society of Underwater Photographers, in London, in April 2016.

The talk is 45 minutes long. I have enabled downloads, so you can watch it when offline (on plane/liveaboard etc), although you must visit Vimeo (click on the video title) to see the download icon.
The password is currently the final word on page 47 (please do not share the password), all lower case.

UNDERWATER LIGHTING MASTERCLASS. Part 2.
This talk is about controlling shadows to create texture and shape in underwater images. It covers some of the teaching of chapters 5 and 7 of the book. This talk was recorded at BSoUP, the British Society of Underwater Photographers, in London, in April 2016.

The talk is 35 minutes long. I have enabled downloads, so you can watch it when offline (on plane/liveaboard etc), although you must visit Vimeo (click on the video title) to see the download icon. The password is currently the final word on page 153 (please do not share the password), all lower case.

Hi, am I able to access the videos if I purchased the digital version of the book?

The two videos on this website are only accessible with the print edition. However, the iBook version of the book has 50 (short) videos in it. aLex
